What we do!

1-on-1 Sessions~$75 per session

With our one-on-one sessions, we focus on where you are in your grief and where you want to be. We will figure out how to get there and what needs to be done in order to get you there. After each session, you will leave with goals that will help you start the healing process, as well as have a better understanding of all you are going through.

Family Sessions~$175 per session

Healing as a family is very important, at times we never realize the impact that grief has on our families. Yes, we are affected individually which at times can cause us to drift apart, here at Life after we offer family sessions. In our sessions, we will figure out how grief has affected the family and how we can work together to bring our families back together again.

Groups Sessions~$25 per person

Here we will have a group of 6 to 8 people who come together to share their stories and to build relationships with others who are also going through grief. We want you to know you’re not in this journey alone and you have someone to lean on.

Client’s Talk!

My experience with Shamika Stokes truly changed my outlook on loss and grief. 2020 was an extremely tough year for me, characterized by loss and immense grief after the loss of my grandmother and little brother 4 months apart from each other. I had a particularly difficult time accepting my little brother’s death, as he was a 20 year old two-time brain cancer survivor, whose first battle began at 13 . He ultimately lost a third battle to brain cancer and I was so angry with God because I couldn’t begin to fathom how he could allow someone so young to suffer so much. I contacted Shamika because I was in such a dark place and couldn’t imagine that the day would come when I’d be okay again. She is a young adult in her twenties, with the warmth, wisdom, and comfort of a woman beyond her years. She herself has experienced unimaginable loss, and by the Grace of God has gotten to a place where she has found the strength to continue on in life. Because of her testimony, and her example, I knew that I needed to speak with her. I didn’t know how I could ever be okay or look forward to something in life again, but I knew that if anyone knew, it would be her. She prayed over my life, she comforted me through the tears, and she taught me that although my grief wouldn’t end, it would change. I’ll never forget my grandmother or brother, and I’ll miss them for the rest of my life, but over time, the overwhelmingly painful feelings of sadness and depression would soon come fewer and farther in between, and would eventually turn into sweet memories of my loved one. Everyone’s grief process is different. Shamika is equipped to walk with her clients through their process. She is patient and attentive and provides a biblical frame of reference from which to draw the healing and comfort of the Father. My experience with Shamika has honestly changed my life. I was so angry at God that i wasn’t sure if i could easily move on in relationship with Him. Shamika helped me to see that although i felt the shock of the loss, God was in control of all and my brother and grandmother were with him now. I was able to find much comfort in that. Even as the initial shock of the loss has worn off over time, Shamika is a constant presence in my life and often asks how she can pray for me. Her genuine concern and kindness is infectious. I’m so thankful that God brought her into my life. I plan to stay in contact with her and utilize her services throughout my life, as loss of loved ones is inevitable. Her personable nature made me feel seen, heard, and cared for as I went through the hardest times in my life. She is amazing and God has allowed her to use her testimony to help others make it through the hard times. You won’t be disappointed.
